Best wedding dresses on sale at The Iconic: Snap up a bargain white gown and don’t spend thousands of dollars on a dress

I’m getting married next year and I can think of nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars on a dress I’ll only get to wear once.

I know why people do it though, bridal shops fulfill every princess fantasy we’ve had since we were younger and finding the perfect custom dress made just for you is both a thrill and a delight.

But if your budget won’t allow for such designer gowns or you’re just happy to shop around, allow me to present an alternative strategy.

The Iconic’s end-of-season sale is still running and I’ve found more than a handful of beautiful crisp white dresses with whimsical details for less than $400.

Let’s start with the brand Whistles, which has reduced its Cecilia Wedding Dress from $1,089 to $326 and comes with a gorgeous pair of sleeves and alluring open back detail.

This brand has quite a few heavily reduced pieces, with the Lina Satin Wedding Dress also discounted to $435 from $1,089 and the Esther Wedding Dress is down to $326.

This one comes with a train as well so you don’t have to substitute the drama when you minimise the price.

For something eye-catching but easy to walk down the aisle in the brand Minima Esenciales has produced the Tyler Ruched Bodice Jersey Dress which was $220 but is down to $80 with an extra 20 per cent off.

While it might not be traditional it’s certainly going to wow your guests as either a main affair or reception dress.

The same can be said for the ROTATE Birger Christensen Leiza Dress which is a short, ruffled style ensemble which was $675 but is down to $168 during the sale period.

Some of my favourite wedding dress options are actually from the brand Lover, which has the demure Jessie Textured Open Back Dress for $105 with a further 20 per cent discount applied at the checkout and the $250 (also further discounted) Nightrose Silk Cowl Midi Dress.

Perhaps leaving the best sale until last — and mainly because there is only one dress left in a size 8 — is Rebecca Vallance’s Genevieve Gown which was $1,599 and is down to $319.

It has a beautiful bow on it which is incredibly on-trend for 2024 brides and splays out at the bottom for a train-like moment.

While buying your wedding dress off a regular retailer might seem bizarre it’s certainly worth considering if you want to spend more money on your venue and catering, for example, than on your outfit.

Shop at The Iconic while the discounts are still flowing.
